Detailed further directions and a map, if required, are available on application to any of the South London Coroner’s Offices. Public car parking is available in Central Croydon car parks but not in the court complex itself.

Disability, translation, interpretation and other special needs
Those who wish to attend court and who have any special requirements (including, for example, a need for translation or interpretation services or help with reading) are requested to contact the office dealing with the inquest well in advance.

Wheelchair access is available, but please advise us in advance if possible so that all necessary arrangements can be made. The courts have toilets, refreshments, waiting rooms, telephones, and facilities for people with disabilities. It is appreciated if prior warning can be given by those requiring facilities for disabled persons or if any help is needed with translations,

South London Coroner’s Inquests

Inquests are usually held in the Court in Croydon (not the Office in Bromley) on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the hearings normally starting at 10.30. Occasionally inquests will be held on other days but the web site and court notice board will, wherever possible, list the cases. If there are openings of inquests, these may take place between 10 and 10.30. All timings after 10.30 are provisional and will depend on how earlier cases progress. Cases in which there are no witnesses and/or no properly interested persons attending in person may be interposed between other listed cases.

The Coroner’s Officers are now based in the South London Coroner’s Office at the Bromley Civic Centre
